Bitcoin is an open-source cryptocurrency and worldwide payment method. It is the first digital currency which uses decentralization in order to perform it's transactions. It uses peer-to-peer technology to manage those transactions, which take place between users directly, with no governmental intervention. Bitcoin was released in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto - an unknown person or group.
Bitcoin Mining Edit
Bitcoin mining is the process by which new bitcoin are released, as well as transactions are verified and added to the blockchain. Anyone who has access to the internet can participate in mining, if they own a compatible hardware.
Blockchain is decentralized, public list of records, called blocks. The blocks are linked and secured through cryptography and represent a ledger of all cryptocurrency transactions.
